Since graduating with a Master’s degree in economics in 1974, I have built a career in the world of finance (life insurance, pension plan, annuities, general insurance, Mutual funds) and management.

From 1975 to 1980, I was employed by the Assumption Mutual Life Insurance Company, first as a representative, then as a training director, and finally as an agency director. I then went to work for the “Fédération des Caisses populaires acadiennes” at Acadia Life, where I was in charge of the annuities department before becoming assistant managing supervisor on September 1, 1986, and vice-president and chief operating officer on August 1, 1988 until I left on June 2001. During those years (1988-2001) I was member of the senior management team for the “Fédération” and affiliated companies. I then took the responsibility of a COOP General Insurance Agency for one year and on august 2002, I went to L’UNION CANADIENNE in Montreal to develop and implement a program to integrate financial services in broker’s office. That position was closed on July 2005 and I came back to New Brunswick to work as an independent broker in financial services since November 2005.

In May 2007, I made a partnership agreement with Mr. Reginald Aucoin, owner of Aucoin Consultants Inc., to work mainly in the Pension Plan area of specialty.

In an effort to put my academic training in economics to good use and make a contribution to cooperative education, I took on teaching duties in the Continuing Education Department of the “Université de Moncton” from 1980 to 1988.

Among my achievements at Acadia Life, I have the implementation and development of the immediate and differed annuities and the individual life insurance sectors. I also implemented the management of the Pension plan at the Fédération level as well as the Group Insurance Plan. I have been the secretary treasurer of the Pension Plan Committee for the employer between 1983 and 2001.
